En Logicalis buscan sr. Business Analyst con experiencia en R para incorporar en plantilla, en la práctica de Data Intelligence de la Business Unit de Data&Analytics. El proyecto inicial es de una empresa líder del sector seguros de Cataluña, con una duración de 1 año (posiblemente ampliable), y tras ese proyecto continuaría en la práctica como experto en R para participar en otros proyectos.

Experienced Quantitative Developer

Project Description
The Reinsurance Engine project is part of the IFRS 17 compliance program. IFRS 17 is a new accounting Standard that requires having a detailed understanding of the company’s cash flows; past and future. As we make extensive use of reinsurance, much of the cash flows are reinsurance related which can be known exactly, given the nature of the reinsurance contracts and the input cash flows to which they apply. We aim to develop an engine that is able to derive these cash flows – billions of records – by brute-force.


Job Description
You will be lead developer with respect to design and implementation of a new calculation engine that is able to generate all the cash flows arising from reinsurance contracts and a set of input cash flows. The programming languages you will be using most frequently will be R, Scala, and possibly Python. You will make use of Spark. The required calculations are to a large extent data-parallel and are therefore suited for a massively parallel approach using Spark.


Job Requirements

  • You enjoy applying your programming and quantitative skills in a business environment.
  • You have an analytical mind and can “see through” large sets of calculations and come to an optimal calculation strategy.
  • You’re a self-starter and able to manage and plan your own work.
  • Ability to work in an international team.


Knowledge, Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience developing quantitative code.
  • Strong analytic skills (university level computer science, maths, physics, engineering, etc.). A PhD is a plus.
  • Strong, proven, programming and technical design skills.
  • Good understanding of tensor-based data operations.
  • Good understanding of Scala. R and Python are a plus.
  • Experience with Spark.
  • Experience with an object-oriented programming language, (e.g., C++, Java, Scala). More is a plus.
  • Experience with functional programming.
  • Experience with numerical programming and optimisation.
  • Good understanding of databases, SQL.
  • Good understanding of BigData infrastructure from a user perspective.
  • Fluency in English.


Se valora mucho la experiencia en seguros y, sobre todo, reaseguros.

Es un proyecto internacional, con equipo en Madrid, Barcelona y Reino Unido. Teletrabajo con posibilidad de viajes a esas ciudades. Incorporación inmediata, retribución … según valía del candidato.
